Events are ideal for all
members of the family and cross a broad range of interests from those who prefer
to view art to the more active who wish to be involved with a guided
maritime-themed walk around the Old Cemetery of Southampton. New events will
include a Sea Film Festival in July at the Harbour Lights Picturehouse
(exact dates are being finalised and will be added to the website later), a
Sea Food Festival for the 5th – 12th August, an Open
Day on the Tall Ship Tenacious which will give the public a rare opportunity
to view this special ship whilst she is in port and an Ocean and Earth Day at
the Oceanographic Centre. www.seacity.co.uk is where the
interactive calendar is found which will enable families to plan ahead or
just find something to do at the last minute.
Those who feel more inspired can add ideas for future events, a
feature of the website that the Sea City Southampton organisers are hoping
will produce some exciting new ideas from the community. Note:
Further interviews are available
about Sea City Southampton generally and about specific events that have been
included on the calendar. To arrange
these please contact Nicky Hirst, Public Affairs
Officer, Southampton and Fareham Chamber of Commerce on 023 8022 3541. |
