HCFF, on behalf of the Hampshire Voluntary Alliance
for Children & Young People, are delivering
the Children’s Workforce Development Program. There will be a series of information events early
in 2008 to raise awareness of the opportunities available for developing the
workforce. |

Safeguarding children is paramount and this can be a
huge responsibility for people charged with this task in clubs and
communites. Appropriate training courses are often hard to find, harder to reach and expensive. Now the Children
and Young People’s Alliance has launched a series of free training events across
the county, for February and March 2008.
These workshops are aimed at all kinds of organisations, including
football, rugby and other sports clubs, faith-based community groups, youth
clubs and parent and toddler groups. These unique one-day workshops will cover Child
Protection, Safer Recruitment and the Common Assessment Framework (CAF). |

Extended Schools Third Sector Pilot, Botley Park Hotel. HCFF has been involved in recently as
part of the steering group to look at strengthening collaboration between
schools and voluntary organisations in the delivery of extended services. We will be helping to organise this conference on 28th
March 2008, to include a 'market place' exhibition for voluntary and
community organisations to showcase what they do and how they work with
schools in delivering the core offer. Organisations that are interested in taking a table
(limited places, but hopefully smaller organisations could share) are asked
to contact Sally Brook, development@hcff.org.uk, 01962 857377. |
