Options Aftercare provides open access support and advice for adult residents of the Hants DAAT area who have left or are nearing the end of treatment for substance misuse where drugs have been the main difficulty.

DIFFERENT WORLDS

Support Group for Aspergers Syndrome and Autistic Spectrum in Basingstoke and surrounding areas.

This parent support group is for parents of  these

children to meet and exchange experiences, skills and understanding.

Social isolation is often experienced by families and children affected by Autistic Spectrum Disorders. This group plans to help them.

THE INCREDIBLE YEARS

PARENTING PROGRAMME

Helps children to succeed at home, with friends and at school. The programme is working with families in Basingstoke whose children  have challenging behaviour or  who are affected by domestic violence and aged between 5—8

We provide parents with the skills to deal with challenging behaviour using positive discipline and management strategies

Build parents confidence and reduce stress within the family

Description: We discuss or debate a variety of subjects both serious and light hearted. Our programme comes out every six months and
follows a planning meeting where members decide the topics.    Now and again we have a cheese ploughmans and a glass of wine and plenty of chat. There are also trips to the theatre, art galleries, exhibitions and concerts.

Parent Partnership

Hampshire Parent Partnership Service was set up in 1994 to develop and improve communication and partnership between the Children's Services Department, parents, children, schools and voluntary agencies.

They provide advice, information and support to parents of children with special educational needs and to parents who have concerns on matters relating to the child's education.

Who we are Parentline Plus is a national charity that works for, and with, parents.

We know that parents want to do the best they can for their children, but sometimes family life can be challenging and difficult. There is after all, no one right way to parent.

In the UK there are over 24 million people who parent – it’s not just mums and dads who do it. Families come in all shapes and sizes. Grandparents, stepparents, brothers, sisters, other relatives, friends and foster carers are all involved in raising happy, healthy children.

Parentline Plus works to offer help and support through an innovative range of free, flexible, responsive services - shaped by parents for parents.

 

 The Preschool Learning Alliance

 Is running a range of FREE workshops and courses in and around Basingstoke. The courses are designed to run in existing    Parent and Toddler settings or Parent and Toddler groups set up specifically for the longer courses.  However one of the courses, called Looking at

Learning Together (LALT) can be run in preschools for committee members, parents and new staff.  The course consists of 6 two hour sessions and looks at understanding how children learn and develop, at behaviour management as well as at basic literacy and numeracy skills for adults to do with children.

The other courses are all for parents/carers to

attend with their children (under 5’s) and are called PEEP (Peers Early Education Partnership), Early Start, Springboard and Play and Language Workshops.
