GENERAL INFORMATION |

Good news from the Early Education and Childcare
Unit…… |
From 1 April 2006, all three and four
year olds can have more free, part-time nursery education. The entitlement to sessions of 2½ hours per session for up to five
sessions per week stays the same. But the number of weeks increases from 33
to 38 – the equivalent of schools. Some pre-schools and private nursery
schools will need a little time to make the adjustment if they can – but they
will make it clear to parents who use them. Any unused weeks though cannot be
made up elsewhere. The dates when three year
olds children become eligible stays the same - so that is 1 September , 1 January and 1
April after their birthday. Any questions – just call
the Early Education and Childcare Unit helpline on 01962 813887. |

“FREE” HOME FIRE SAFETY
CHECK |
Is your home safe from
fire? Do you have smoke alarms? Do you know what to do if a fire occurs in
your home? Every year Hampshire Fire
and Rescue Service is called out to approx, 4000 fires in the home of which
350 result in injury or death. Smoke
alarms are the first line of defence against fire. They are designed to detect fire in its
early stages and can give you those precious few moments to get out
safely. Hampshire Fire and Rescue can
provide a FREE HOME FIRE SAFETY CHECK, fit smoke alarms, where
necessary and give advice on the action to be taken in the event of fire and
the points to consider when making a home fire escape plan. To arrange your FREE home safety
check, please contact Community Fire Safety on 023 8062 6809 / email community.firesafety@hantsfire.gov.uk. Or visit their website at www.hantsfire.gov.uk. |
